Council Action

On February 24 the Chino Valley Town Council approved a rezoning and conditional use permit allowing the Perkins Ranch and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to construct an airport/industrial complex on the eastern edge of the town boundary. The rezoning was extremely controversial and attracted extensive public attention.

Voting for (5) the rezoning and CUP: Mayor Tom Armstrong, Council members John McCafferty, Sherri Phillips, Larry Holt, and Robert Switzer.

Voting against (2): vice-Mayor Eric Granillo, Council member Robert Schacherer

After the vote, Mr. Schacherer resigned in protest.
