Are you confused about Prop 410?

If you are a citizen of Chino Valley and confused about Proposition 410 and the implications of your vote, I hope this will explain the consequences of your vote.

Proposition 410 is about the Town Council’s vote to approve a zoning change of 390 acres from SR2 to AR36.

The result of this zoning change is a conditional use permit (CUP) to allow Mr. Perkins to build an airstrip for ERAU students to practice touch and go training at the airstrip.

This is phase 1 of a 4 phase project with phase 4 turning the training airstrip into an airport and industrial park for what is now unknown research and manufacturing companies.

Phases 2-4 may only require the Town Council approval to go forward. The citizens of Chino Valley may not be able to challenge the Town Council approval if they disagree with the Town Council’s approval.

The airstrip could then be visited by private executive jets and helicopters.

A YES vote on Proposition 410 is basically saying yes to all of what I’ve described.

A NO vote reverses the initial rezoning of SR2 to AR36, which will nullify everything afterwards. That means no airstrip, no ERAU training, and no airport/industrial complex.
